Rice Krispy Treats

My husband’s grandmother showed me the easiest recipe for Rice Krispy treats ever.  All you have to remember for the ingredients  are  1….1….1..and 6.

The ingredients are

1 cup sugar

1 cup corn syrup

1 cup peanut butter

6 cups rice crispies

This is how you make them.   Get your ingredients together.   Coat a 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray.   Or two pans if you plan to make a double batch.

Mix the sugar, PB, and syrup in a pan over medium heat.   Stir constantly till its heated and bubbly.   (not boiling)

It is not quite hot enough if it still looks like the picture below.   Don’t stress over getting this mixture to a certain temperature.  Just heat and stir until it gets less thick and starts to bubble.

When its bubbly, turn off the heat and add the rice crispies.

When all the crispies are coated, pour into your casserole pan.   I spray my fingertips with non stick spray and press the mixture into the pan.

One recipe doesn’t make two pans.   I made a double batch.  Smile

This is something extra you can do.   Melt a 12 oz. package of semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave.   Pour over the treats.

As the melted chocolate cools, it makes a firm chocolate top on the treats. This is absolutely heavenly.

This is such an easy dessert.   My family goes bonkers for these treats.
